What are affirmations?
You may have heard of affirmations and how powerful they can be, but do you know why?
An affirmation is a brief but powerful statement. They allow you to consciously control your thoughts. Affirmations are carefully crafted in order to have the greatest possible impact. When you say or think them, they become the thoughts that shape your reality.
According to research, approximately 80% of the 50,000 subconscious thoughts you have in a day are negative. That’s a lot of negativity! Affirmations make you conscious of your thoughts. So, when you consciously think positive thoughts, it is easier to control the negative ones that are always threatening.
To affirm is to say something positive. So an affirmation is firmly declaring a positive thought and assertively stating it as a truth.
By making these positive declarations part of your daily life, you are helping your mind to prioritize positivity over negativity.
Have you ever wondered, why the affirmations don’t work for everyone and every time?
Well, there are many factors behind that. I am listing down some of the points which are responsible.
1. Affirmations must be used for a set period of time, such as two months.
A specific set of affirmations must be repeated consistently over a period of time, and the affirmations must not be changed. Those must be the same during that time period.
2. Don’t skip reciting affirmations during that time period. For example, if we want to repeat daily for two months, don’t skip any days. One or two days are fine, but no more.
3. Timing is crucial. Affirmations should be repeated as soon as you wake up or before going to bed.
4. Close your eyes and sit or lie down in a peaceful environment while saying affirmations.
and then express yourself with feelings
5. Mention those things while saying an affirmation.
